The girls were at the kitchen table, dressed in Papa's old shirts, painting up a storm. Tom T. Hall was playing (Sneaky Snake is the girls' very favorite song). I was preparing supper, while watching and listening to the girls in action. Perfection.
Then we returned to reality:
Clarissa tore her paper and it upset Veronica, for some reason. She was inconsolable for a solid 5 minutes, all because of a torn piece of paper. Clarissa, meanwhile, was fine with the "broken" paper.
The sadness subsided. Painting and cooking resumed. Life is good around here.
What's good in your life?

My foot getting fixed (yay, Dr. V!), Mr. D's diet success (down to fighting weight!) and 3 boys building a fort in the woods.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know your foot needed fixing. I hope you have a quick recovery.
DeleteLife is certainly good. There's just something about simple afternoons like that, they make you appreciate how beautiful everyday moments are.
ReplyDeleteIt really did make me appreciate how lucky I am. I was almost awestruck at how lovely things were, even when V started crying.
