craving fresh veggies. I'm making everything with kale, leeks, and lots of herbs, just to make meals feel a bit more like spring. I am getting desperate for spring lettuces, local strawberries, fresh green onions, new potatoes, and most of all: asparagus. We should have some coming up in our garden this year. I can not wait to harvest asparagus and eat it just minutes later. Yum!
looking at my old recipe posts and feeling embarrassed by the horrible photos I published. I find it hard to believe I had any readers at the beginning, with how awful my pictures were!
loving the extra light in the evening that Daylight Savings brought. I no longer have to make dinner before 3pm, just so I can take pictures.
planning a big meal for Sunday. I'm making a vegan version of a traditional Wisconsin supper club dinner. Next week, I'll be sharing recipes for all the components of the meal: old fashioned cocktails, a relish tray, crackers and breadsticks served with vegan cheese spreads, French onion soup, iceberg salad, seitan "steak" and braised mushrooms, baked potatoes, bananas foster, ice cream cocktails, and coffee. Steve and I are going to be in a serious food coma, by the time it's all done. Thanks in advance to Auntie Sarah for babysitting on Sunday, so Steve and I can live it up for a few hours.

I feel like I've asked you this before, but are you guys in Wisconsin? (Your mention of the Wisconsin supper club sparked my question)
ReplyDeleteI am loving the extended hours of daylight as well!
It's okay, if you've asked before. We live in Green Bay.
DeleteI am craving fresh veggies too, especially strawberries, corn on the cob, tomatoes, and anything green! I am also loving the extra daylight! The girls look adorable in the pictures. Looking at them makes me want to get Amar'e some rain/rubber boots! We have a ton of snow still, and one warm day will get that stuff melting. It would be good for her to have them so we can play in the melting snow. Any suggestions of where to buy or brands?
ReplyDeleteI found the girls boots on the Old Navy website. I think they were $14.
DeleteLovely!
DeleteCannot wait to see how you make over the traditional supper club meal!!!
ReplyDeleteI also get super embarrassed when I look back at old posts and see how horrible my pictures were. I feel bad because all the pics I took of Kale in the first few months are just down right awful.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the extra sunlight too and craving all the same spring vegetables!
I'm glad I'm not alone. I see some people's blogs and they look so great, even though the person has only been blogging for a few months.
