...missing time with Steve. His time off between Christmas and New Year's was a delight. It was too short and too busy, but it was also full of quiet, happy family time. Now we're back to the grind. Steve races out the door in the morning. The evening is as much about prepping for tomorrow, as it is for winding down from today. It will be quite some time, before Steve has time off again, but I'm already waiting for it...whenever it may come.

...thinking about my one and only resolution for 2013: to publish my first cookbook. I had first hoped to get it out early last Fall, then I set November as a deadline. Well, it's January and I'm still developing and testing recipes. But I haven't given up. Since I haven't gotten a foothold on this whole funding thing for hiring a photographer, I have decided I am just going to have to force myself to get better at taking pictures of cookies. It is as simple as that. Even if I publish it on December 31, and only as an e-book, the first Vegan Mother Hubbard cookbook WILL be coming your way this year!

...playing with the girls and all the new toys they got for Christmas. Clarissa and Veronica have become imaginative, creative kids, which makes playing with them a ton of fun. They build things with their new blocks and then tell me elaborate stories about what they built. It blows my mind to see how smart and clever they have become.

Exciting about your cookbook! Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteIf you need an editor's eye, you know where to go!
ReplyDeleteIf your cookies are as good as the cranberry sweet potato cookies, you can send them my way.

Most nights are the same for us - as soon as we get home from work, we start preparing for the next day (making lunches, laying out clothes, etc.). Some nights this can be so exhausting, but if we didn't do it this way, it would be total chaos here!
ReplyDeleteAnd now I'm off to see if I have the ingredients for those peanut butter cookies!
You can send me cookies. I don't mind testing them.
ReplyDeleteHang in there.....we all hate excercise. Hope you and Steve get some fun summer time togetherness. I would volunteer for cookie testing but have own weight issues :)
ReplyDeleteI write for "Sugar Loco" as a side gig and can speak for Jenny (the owner) that I'd be happy to review your cookies on there! In other words, "send cookies mmmmmmgrrrmmmm" and ps. that's rad about your cookbook! Awesome resolution!
ReplyDeleteGo for this cookbook! Awesome idea!
