Everybody seems to love snowballs (or whatever name you have for them). They are lightly sweet and nutty, with pecans or walnuts. For some reason, after a good 15 years of making snowballs each Christmas, this was the year that I finally realized that I could replace the nuts with crushed candy canes and the vanilla extract with peppermint extract. Thus, peppermint snowballs were born. It’ll be our first year with two kinds of snowball cookies!
