Weekend Recap

It's Monday evening and I haven't posted anything since Saturday morning. Monday nights are my chance to get out of the house and work on the blog and the book at my fave coffeehouse, Kavarna. I decided I'd start my evening of work, by sharing a little peek at our lovely weekend.

Friday I made lemon-lime oatmeal cookies and my own, vegan version of Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies.

Baking was followed up with a party to celebrate Emma's 2nd birthday. We had lots of fun playing and helping the girls' friend celebrate her big milestone.

Saturday was a lazy day. We played, napped, and baked more cookies. The gals took a walk with Steve, while I was working in the kitchen. We had a short, but delightful visit from my good friend Heidi and her nephew, Fritz. We went to sleep on Saturday night feeling content and relaxed. It was perfect.

Sunday was our big adventure. We went to mass early and Clarissa practiced her speaking skills, saying cat, bird and Kristie loud enough for the whole congregation to hear. We headed out of town right from church to go to Madison. We had a low key drive down and spent a couple of hours with Auntie Kristie, raising a ruckus at the children's museum.

Before we made the trek back to Green Bay, we refueled at The Roman Candle. We ate delicious pizza and the girls got a last chance to get all their energy out, before being cooped up in the car again. I capped off the night by doing our grocery shopping for the week. Steve played with the girls and we got them to bed shortly after I got home from the store.

The weekend felt productive, relaxing and satisfying. Now it's Monday and we're back to the grind. Steve's busy with work, the girls are their usual, rambunctious selves and I'm busy writing cookie recipes and tending to Veronica's runny nose (don't worry, I wash my hands obsessively).

How was your weekend? Anything out of the ordinary for your family?

    1. We had lots of fun, too. It was great to see how the girls were happy to see you. They didn't really need time to warm up to you at all.
