The last couple days have been really nice. On Wednesday I went shopping with my mom, sister and the girls. I was checking out at Target and the lady in line behind us gave me a coupon for $8 off my purchase.
On Wednesday night, Steve, Clarissa, Veronica and I cuddled under a blanket on the couch and watched Santa Claus is Coming to Town. We had the lights out, but the Christmas tree and Advent candles lit. It was cozy and festive. It was nice to have quiet family time before the girls went to bed, rather than just focusing on getting them to sleep.

Yesterday was full of wonderful little things. My mom, sister, and I baked a bunch more cookies. They all turned out great. Veronica and Clarissa were super nappers. When they got up from their naps, they played with their workbench for almost an hour. We got to listen to and watch the girls playing, without them being underfoot and near the hot oven. To round out the day, Auntie Sarah, Auntie Cathy, and Bubba were our pinch hitters. I forgot about going to mass this evening and half an hour before we had to leave I remembered. The three of them watched Clarissa and Veronica. We got to go to church and actually focus on the mass and we didn’t have to rush to pack the diaper bag and get the girls ready to go. Steve and I were very grateful.

Today will be a quiet day at home, just the girls and me. I don’t have to pack a diaper bag or rush out the door. I can get caught up on chores and get ready for a weekend of baking, decorating cookies and watching the Packers win their 13th game of the season!
